Lizzie: A bold and brash paint with subtle darker tones, this is really versatile. Of course, it’s ideal for those Aeldari Striking Scorpions, but it’s brilliant for glazing onto eye lenses and gemstones to create glowing effects. Lizzie: A regal and rich blue, with deep tones that seep into the recesses. This is perfect for making those Stormcast Eternals look fit to serve Sigmar. Start by priming the models with Games Workshop’s Wraithbone primer, then paint them with Guilliman Flesh Contrast Paint. Next load a brush with Contrast Medium and then basically tap it to Volupus Pink and brush that on. Thin it with even more Contrast Medium while wet, if necessary.

Lizzie: What a name! Perfect on Daemonettes and other Daemons of Slaanesh – you can apply this over a light skin tone to create gaunt and sunken flesh. It’s also fun to use over metallics to create a really unique tone.Anyway, for this step I glazed in some thinned down Murder Scene from Army Painter’s Speedpaint range in a 50:50 mix of that and Speedpaint Medium, but this works just as well with something like Volupus Pink from Citadel. I also use this color on the skin tone I have to make the area the tentacle is emerging from look more like muscle.

Follow my Green Flames Rev iii for the recipe for the flames. Always do last as you can apply some minor OSL. A supercharged alternative to Warp Lightning, Karandras Green is one of the most intense Contrast paints in the whole range. In June, we invited Warhammer TV painting presenter Emma Robinson to talk about her favourite colours and some inspired uses for them. Today we’ve got her co-host, Lizzie Ward, to talk about her 10 favourite paints from the new range and how she has been using them.

The Glow

Citadel Colour’s Volupus Pink is an acrylic paint with a smooth matt finish. It contains a high concentration of pigments, providing excellent coverage with just a thin base coat. This colour works great as a foundation for highlighting lighter pinks, and the paint is easy to use even for beginners. It is a beautiful addition to any palette and ideal for miniature painting, especially for models that require a vibrant and eye-catching appearance. What armies to paint with Volupus Pink I have had a great deal of fun experimenting with using various real-world colour schemes that can be found in nature for my Tyranids. I’ve so far attempted schemes based on the following: All of the ropes and leather straps on the model, including the grip on the weapon and shield, were tidied up with Wraithbone, before getting a coat of Gore-Grunta Fur. Emma: Gutrippa Flesh is terrific and will save a lot of time when painting Kruleboyz or Gretchin as it gives an excellent base colour and shade that suits these boyz down to the ground. It’s really great for camo cloth too! Attaching all the branches can be a pain in the rear. I recommend starting from the top and working your way to the bottom, with the base pieces left off. Generally, you want to have the smaller branches toward the top and the larger branches toward the bottom. Dry fit the branches before you glue them on and find out which branches you want to go where, you should aim for a nicely shaped crown with the leaves and branches spread out evenly.
